Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday visited the construction site of Majuli University of Culture and took stock of its progress.
CM Sarma inspected the erosion protection work at Luit Ghat in Majuli and directed the officials concerned to complete the work within stipulated time.
Taking to his Twitter CM Sarma wrote, “Visited the construction site of Majuli University of Culture and took stock of its progress. I am certain that this university will play a vital role in protecting the cultural heritage of Majuli and Assam through research and academics.”

The Chief Minister later on visited the construction site of Model Degree College at Bordua in Majuli and reviewed the progress of work.

Earlier in the day, CM Sarma met the brave hearts who selflessly endeavored to rescue victims of the tragic Majuli boat mishap on September 8 and handed over cheques of Rs 25,000 to each of the 50 such brave-hearts in Majuli.
