Guwahati: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced revised exam dates for the UGC-NET exams in December 2020 and June 2021.
Exams will commence on November 20, 2021, according to the announcement.
To avoid a mismatch between exams scheduled on the same days, NTA had already postponed the exam, which was set from October 6-8 and October 17-19, to October 17 to 25.
Exams will now be held on November 20, 21, 22, 24, 25, 26, 29, 30, and December 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 in 2021.
Candidates must obtain a score of at least 40% in order to pass the exam (35 percent for reserved category candidates).
Only the top 6% of qualified candidates will be certified successful.
Those who pass the exam can apply for assistant professorships or junior research fellowships (JRF).
Exam patterns for the UGC NET comprise objective-type questions. For each subject, there are two papers. Paper 1 includes 50 MCQs, whereas paper 2 contains 100 MCQs.
The students will have three hours to complete the examination. Each correct answer will receive 2 marks, and there will be no negative marking.
