6000 cab drivers in Guwahati migrate to Peindia; Ola Uber to be massively hit from August 1

Guwahati:  The All Guwahati Cab Driver’s Union has decided that the cab drivers will not be working under Ola and Uber from August 1.

Around 6000 drivers have already signed with Peindia resigning from OLA and UBER.

The drivers union has announced that starting from August 1, OLA and UBER cabs will not be available in Guwahati.

But to help the daily commuters All Assam Cab Workers Association along with the Guwahati Cab Drivers Union said that cabs will be available only in Peindia from August 1 in Guwahati.

The cab drivers have stood against OLA and UBER and have boycotted the two companies.

Addressing the media the drivers highlighted their concern with their issues and problems against the two companies in a press meet on Sunday.

The decision was taken in view of the interest of cab drivers in the city as the cab drivers have not received needed incentives and the administration of Ola and Uber have not listed and fulfilled their demands.

Almost all the cab drivers of Guwahati are now associated with Peindia and residents of Guwahati will be able to book cabs from the Peindia App starting from  August 1.

According to sources, a total of 16,000 drivers were earlier working under OLA and UBER.

Further, the Cab drivers of Guwahati have also informed that there will be special facilities available for the passengers in Peindia.
