War on Human Trafficking: Assam Police rescues 9 girls from Kerala

GUWAHATI: A special team of Assam Police personnel rescued nine girls from Kerala who were taken there by human traffickers. This was informed by Assam Police ADGP, GP Singh through Twitter. These girls hailing from various districts of Assam were trafficked to Tampanoor in Kerala.

Based on a case registered No. 453/2021, Dated 11/07/2021, U/S 370 (3)/370 (5) IPC at the Lanka Police station on 11th July, a team of eight Assam Police personnel travelled to Kerala on 13th July. The mission of the team was to rescue the victims and bring them back and apprehend the accused.

The team successfully carried out the mission and rescued nine victims who were from Hojai, Nagaon, Sonitpur, Morigaon and Kamrup(Rural) and two accused persons have also been arrested. The culprits have been identified as Muffazul Haque who is a resident of Hojai and Rakbul Hussain a resident of Nagaon. The Assam Police team is bringing them all back to Assam.
