Kaziranga: Pair of Royal Bengal Tiger seen beating off heat in pond; watch video

GUWAHATI: In a recent video, two Royal Bengal Tigers were seen cooling off in a pond in the Kaziranga National Park in Assam.

It can be seen that one of the tigers is partially submerged in the pond, the other is seen walking around. The video has created a sensation on the internet.

It is to be mentioned that the Kaziranga National Park is a national park and a UNESCO World Heritage Site in India. The park contains significant breeding populations of more than 35 mammalian species, out of which 15 are threatened mammals according to the IUCN Red List.  Kaziranga is home to the highest density of tigers among protected areas in the world and was declared a Tiger Reserve in 2006.

At present, Kaziranga National Park has the highest population of tigers in any protected area in the world and has the third-largest population of tigers in India, according to kaziranganationalparkassam.in
