GUWAHATI: The Sangam bridge over the Siyom River in Siang district, Arunachal Pradesh, connecting Pangin and Boleng washed away on Tuesday morning at around 09:00 AM due to heavy rains.
According to reports, three people were reported missing after a ten-wheeler truck transporting stones fell into the river.
The incident has majorly disrupted connectivity between the Upper Siang area and the rest of the city. Also, several cases of landslides have been reported in the area due to heavy rainfall.
It is to be mentioned that a similar incident had occurred in 2000 where the Sangam bridge was washed away due to flood.
Meanwhile, a NDRF team has been deployed for the search operation of missing persons.
