GUWAHATI: The addition of 2,689 new cases took Assam’s COVID-19 tally to 5,03,333 on Monday. The death toll rose to 4,482 with 42 fresh fatalities.
Golaghat district recorded the highest number of fresh cases at 278, followed by Sonitpur(228) and Jorhat(178), a health bulletin said.
The state now has 25,043 active cases, while 4,72,461 people have recovered from the disease this far.
The recovery rate among the coronavirus patients in the state stands at 93.87 per cent, while the mortality rate is at 0.89 per cent.

A total of 1,347 coronavirus patients have died due to other causes to date.
