Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister on Monday welcomed former Congress MLA from Mariani Rupjyoti Kurmi to the BJP family.
Taking to his Twitter CM Sarma wrote, “We welcome Sri Rupjyoti Kurmi to BJP family. Rupjyoti Kurmi who represented Assam Legislative Assembly four times consecutively from Mariani LAC of Jorhat district as a member of Indian National Congress(INC) and resigned recently from the party joined the Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) in the presence of Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma in a programme held at Gerukamukh in Dhemaji district on Monday.
