69th Filmfare Awards 2024: Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, ’12th Fail’ win big, see full list here

It was a glittering Bollywood extravaganza, as the B-Town superstars descended in Gujarat’s Gandhinagar for the 69th Filmfare Awards. Biopic drama ’12th Fail’ was the biggest winner as it was adjudged as the best in 5 categories. It won the Best Film Award. Filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra also won the Best Director Award for ’12th Fail’.

The ‘Black Lady’ trophy was received by the members of the film including actors Vikrant Massey and Medha Shankar.

Helmed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, ’12th Fail’ revolves around UPSC aspirants and is based on the real-life experiences of IPS officer Manoj Kumar. It draws from the gritty struggles of millions of students who attempt the UPSC entrance exam.

Vikrant also won big at the gala. He took home the Best Actor (Critics) award for his performance in the film ’12th Fail’ at the 69th Filmfare Awards, which was held in Gujarat.

And it was time for double celebration for actors and popular B-town couple Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt won the Best Actor award at the 69th Filmfare Awards.
Ranbir bagged the Best Actor in a Leading Role (Male) for his performance in the action thriller film ‘Animal’. Alia, on the other hand, bagged the Best Actor in a Leading Role (Female) for her performance in the romantic drama film ‘Rocky aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’.

The couple was seen posing with their black ladies on the stage.

‘Animal’ revolves around a troubled father-son relationship and has Ranbir in the role of Rannvijay Singh, who goes on to exact revenge after there’s an assassination attempt on his father. The film raked in over Rs 800 crore at the box office.

Talking about ‘Rocky aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’, the film was helmed by Karan Johar and also starred Ranveer Singh, Dharmendra, Shabana Azmi and Jaya Bachchan in the lead roles.

The film revolves around Rocky Randhawa (Ranveer), a Punjabi businessman, and Rani Chatterjee (Alia Bhatt), a Bengali journalist, who fall in love despite their differences and family objections. They decide to live with each other’s families for three months before getting married.
