Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma hails alertness displayed by Sribhumi Police after 5 Bangladeshi infiltrators held, pushed back to the neighbouring country early Thursday morning

As many as 5 Bangladeshi infiltrators were held and later pushed back to the neighbouring country by Sribhumi Police early Thursday morning, Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma announced today (April 17).

The five Bangladeshi infiltrators who were held and later pushed by Assam Police to Bangladesh have been identified as Abdulla, Ansarulla, Roshid Ahammed, Md. Karim Mulla and Happy Seikh, a woman infiltrator, Dr Sarma stated in a post on ‘X’, formerly Twitter.

Lauding the alertness of Assam Police for foiling repeated attempts made by Bangladeshi infiltrators to enter Assam, mainly at night under the cover of darkness, Chief Minister Dr Sarma said “Assam police is on alert 24/7 to secure our borders”.

Earlier on April 10, Sribhumi Police had held two other Bangladeshi nationals along the Indo-Bangla border while they were trying to enter Assam illegally.

The duo, Md. Ramjan Ali and Md. Dolangir, were pushed back across the border into Bangladesh after they were held by alert Assam Police cops.
