A moderate-intensity earthquake jolted Assam, almost all the other Northeastern States and Myanmar this afternoon. Tremors of the quake were experienced in Manipur, Nagaland, Assam, including Guwahati. According to the US Geological Survey, the quake measured 5.3 on the Richtar Scale.
No reports of any casualty or damage to property have been reported so far.
The earthquake was reported in Manipur, 26 kilometres South South West of Nagaland’s Phek town and very close to the Myanmar border, US Geological Survey stated in its website usgs.gov.
The quake was registered at a depth of 63.1 kilometres, usgs.gov further reported.
