The ace sprinter then arrived at the Bhupen Hazarika Samadhi Kshetra in an Audi where she offered her tributes to the bard of the Brahmaputra after covering the distance in a big rally. People stood by the roadside along the route from the airport to the Bhupen Hazarika memorial, garlanding her with the traditional ‘gamosas’.
The rally accompanying Hima then took the route to the Sarusajai Stadium where she was welcomed by her fellow athletes, other sportspersons and coaches. On the other hand, the Assam Government will felicitate her at a special function at the Sankardev Kalakshetra this evening.
