4.1 magnitude quake shakes Meghalaya’s North Garo Hills, tremors felt in Guwahati

GUWAHATI, Feb 20: An earthquake measuring 4.1 on the Richter Scale shook Meghalaya at 11:32 am today (Feb 20) with tremors felt in Guwahati and other adjoining areas of Assam.

The epicentre of the quake, the National Center for Seismology (NCS) stated, was located in North Garo Hills in Meghalaya and the tremor was measured at a depth of 5 kilometers.

“EQ of M: 4.1, On: 20/02/2025 11:32:58 IST, Lat: 25.87 N, Long: 90.70 E, Depth: 5 Km, Location: North Garo Hills, Meghalaya,” National Center for Seismology (NCS) stated in a post on ‘X’, formerly Twitter.

No reports of any damage to property or loss of life or injuries have come from any place till the filing of this report.
