3 yrs suspension if caught cheating in HSLC: SEBA

GUWAHATI: The Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA) has come up with new ideas to prevent students from cheating and other malpractices at HSLC examination centers.

SEBA Chairman, R.C. Jain told News Live that students caught cheating, carrying mobile phones and disobeying invigilators will not be expelled instead they will face suspension for the next three years.

He also said that the question papers will be checked by the invigilator along with two witnesses before the commencement of the exam.

A total of 3,58,446 students will appear for the 2020 HSLC (matriculation) exam across 860 centers in Assam. The HSLC examinations have been scheduled from 10 to 29 February.
