Guwahati: Actor Sushant Singh Rajput reportedly cleared the dues of his staff before he died by suicide on Sunday. According to a report in Times Now, the Mumbai Police said he even told the staff that he will not be able to pay them any further.
The actor’s staff, however, were grateful about getting their salaries during the Covid-19 pandemic and said that the actor did more than enough by paying them so far. “Aap ne humein itna sambhala hai, aagey hum kuch na kuch kar leinge (You have cared for us so for long, we will manage somehow),” his staff had replied to him.
The managers of the ‘Kedarnath’ actor have revealed to the police that Rajput was in discussion with his ex-manager, Disha Salian, and that she was helping him bag the lead role in a web series worth Rs 14 crore.

Salian, Rajput’s ex-manager, had committed suicide, on June 8. Rajput’s managers informed the police that the actor was ‘devastated’ after Salian’s demise and that he had secluded himself by locking himself up in his room.
“He was already in depression and news of Disha’s suicide had given him a greater setback.” The police, however, couldn’t substantiate the manager’s claims.

Known for films like ‘MS Dhoni: The Untold Story’ and ‘Kedarnath’, Rajput was found hanging at his Bandra home on June 14. Initial reports suggested that the actor had allegedly died of suicide. No suicide note was found in Rajput’s apartment. His post-mortem report said that he had died of asphyxiation.
The actor was cremated at the Pawan Hans crematorium in Vile Parle on Monday amid heavy downpour.
