Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma extends invitation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi ahead of the inauguration of Bir Lachit Barphukan’s statue in Jorhat.
The Assam government is set to unveil the 125-foot bronze statue at Lachit Barphukan’s memorial in Hollongapar, Jorhat.
The CM took to ‘X’ to share pictures of the magnificent statue being constructed to pay tribute to the legendary general whose heroics had saved the state from falling into Mughal hands.
“Today, I visited Jorhat to personally oversee the preparations for these momentous events,” the CM wrote on ‘X’.
He also stated that the Prime Minister during his visit, will also inaugurate the Sivasagar Medical College.
Further, PM Narendra Modi will also participate in the Griha Pravesh ceremony for 5.5 lakh homes constructed under the PMAY, the CM specified.
