Around 14 students at school in Assam’s Jorhat on Wednesday fell ill after consuming mid-day meals at the school premises in a suspected case of food poisoning.
As per initial reports, the incident was reported at the Dahotia H.S. School in the Panichakua area of Jorhat district in Assam.
According to information received, the students started falling ill right after consuming the food.
All of those showing symptoms were immediately rushed to PICU of Jorhat Medical College where they are currently undergoing treatment.
However, eight were allowed to go home while six children are still admitted to the PICU of Jorhat Medical College and undergoing treatment.
The admitted children are between the age of eight and ten years.
Meanwhile, tensions flared at the premises of the hospital as the parents of the children gathered there.
