13 injured in cylinder burst at brick kiln in Kamrup’s Pakorkona, five critical

GUWAHATI, March 28: At least 13 people suffered burn injuries in a cylinder burst at a brick kiln at Pkorkona in Kamrup district of Assam.

The cylinder burst triggered a blaze inside a room where workers of FNB Brick Kiln and their families stayed.

The incident took place yesterday night.

Women and children are also among those injured in the fire.

Thirteen injured persons were rushed to Gauhati Medical College Hospital (GMCH) and six of them, including a two-and-a-half-year-old toddler, were admitted to ICU.

One of them, however, was later shifted to the ward after his condition improved.

The condition of at least five persons suffering severe burn injuries has been stated to be serious.
