11-Year-Old Deaf-Mute Dalit Girl Raped in UP: A heartbreaking case of sexual violence has shaken Uttar Pradesh’s Rampur district. An 11-year-old Dalit girl, who is deaf and mute, was allegedly raped and brutally assaulted. The incident has left the entire area in shock and anger, with locals demanding justice for the innocent child.
Overview of the Shocking Case
The little girl was with her elder sister to collect cow dung on Tuesday evening but did not return home. Her family grew worried and began searching. When their search gave no result, they made an announcement through a mosque loudspeaker. Sadly, the next day, the child was found lying unconscious and naked in a desolate spot. Her body had multiple injuries and burn marks on her private parts, suspected to be caused by cigarette butts. Her swollen face indicated she was hit with something heavy.
Medical Report and Investigation
Doctors said the girl is terrified and traumatised, unable to explain the horror she faced. A senior doctor revealed that there may be more than one person involved, judging by the number of injuries. After local villagers gave a tip-off, police formed three teams. CCTV footage showed the accused, a 24-year-old man, walking with the girl to an isolated area.
When police tried to arrest him, he fired at them. In retaliation, he was shot in the leg and is now in hospital under custody.
Mother’s Heartbreaking Words
The girl’s mother said her daughter was usually outside during the day, but when she didn’t return late at night, the family panicked. Their fear turned into horror when she was found in such a condition. The mother broke down while recording the FIR, saying they just want justice.
Police Action and Legal Charges
The accused has been charged under multiple serious sections, including:
- Section 65-2 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (rape of minor girl under 16)
- Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act
- Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act
Public Reaction and What Happens Next
People across Rampur are angry and demanding swift punishment. Activists and locals are calling for a fast-track court to hear the case and ensure justice is not delayed. The incident also highlights the need for safety measures for vulnerable children, especially those with disabilities.
This case is not just about one child—it is a reminder of the dark reality that many still face. An innocent girl was brutally attacked, and her only ‘fault’ was being alone. It’s time the system acts fast, punishes the guilty, and ensures no other child suffers like this.
