11 thousand TET teachers to be appointed before Bohag Bihu: Himanta Biswa Sarma

Guwahati: Assam Education Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday at Assam Legislative Assembly slated that before Bohag Bihu around 11 thousand teachers will be appointed.

Speaking at the Legislative assembly Dr, Sarma said, “Within this month we have an aim to appoint around 11 thousand teachers through TET in the LP schools.  Though there are 2 cases pending in the High Court and if we win these two cases we can surely appoint 11 thousand teachers in this month itself”.

“In around 322 Colleges a lot of posts are vacant and I can assure that in the next assembly session you won’t get a chance to raise a question on that. Within a few days, the transfers of the teachers will also be stopped once the law is passed. And within 45 days the vacancies in LP and High schools will also be filled. Everything should be in a systematic way and I hope things will be fine in the coming days,” he added.

The Minister also mentioned about the TET exams for the Higher Secondary Schools and he assured that within a few days the government will have a discussion about it and announce the exams dates.
