100-foot Chaolung Siu Ka Pha statue at Nazira

GUWAHATI: A 100-feet long statue of Chaolung Siu Ka Pha will be unveiled in Nazira, Assam on Friday by Assam Health, Finance and Education Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma.

The statue is located at Dhodar Ali Road in Nazira on February 26 under the leadership of ‘All Tai Ahom Students Association’.

It is to be noted that the 100-feet long statue was under construction since 2014. 

The new statue will remain a historic moment for the Ahom community. This statue of Veer Chaolung Siu Ka Pha will not only stand high but will also remind all about the 600-year-old history of the Ahom era. 

Chaolung Siu Ka Pha also known as Siu-Ka-Pha, the first Ahom king in medieval Assam, was the founder of the Ahom kingdom. A Tai prince originally from Mong Mao, the kingdom he established in 1228 existed for nearly six hundred years.
