Himanta Biswa Sarma continues poll campaign

PUBLISHED:

NEDA chairman and Assam Finance, Health and Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has emerged as a star campaigner for the BJP in Assam and the Northeast as he continued to address one rally after another for candidates of the BJP as well as its alliance partners in the State.

After addressing a slew of election rallies at Nazira, Mariani and Titabor under Jorhat Lok Sabha constituency, drumming up support for party candidate Topon Kumar Gogoi, he airdashed to Sonitpur and Biswanath districts under Tezpur parliamentary constituency and campaigned for Pallab Lochan Das, another cabinet colleague who has been fielded by the party from Tezpur.

Criticising the Congress party for failing to ensure development of Assam, Sarma appealed to voters to back the BJP in the upcoming hustings so that Narendra Modi becomes Prime Minister again and further accelerates the pace of development in Assam as well as the entire country.

“By supporting Pallab Lochan Das, what you will do is make Prime Minister Narendra even stronger. We can make it happen together. So on April 11, the day of voting, all you need to do is go to your respective polling booths and vote for the BJP. I assure you that we will further augment infrastructure development and Pallab Lochan Das will work with all sincerity and to the best of his ability in the coming days,” Himanta Biswa Sarma said at Rangapara from where Pallab Lochan Das was elected to the Assam Assembly in the 2016 elections.
