Arrested Hizbul linkmen handed over to NIA

Assam Police have handed the eight arrested accomplices of Hizbul terrorist Qamer-uz-Zaman to the NLA. The eight linkmen of the Pakistani terrorist organization were arrested after police launched a crackdown following Qamer’s arrest in Kanpur.

The eight arrested accomplices of Qamer are Shahnawaz Alom, Saidul Alom, Omar Farookh, Riyazuddin, Jainal Ahmed, Baharul Islam, Saiful Islam alias Liton who happens to be the elder brother of Qamer, and Abhimanyu Chauhan.

They were brought to Guwahati and produced in the NIA court.

The crackdown on the Hizbul network in Assam was launched after Uttar Pradesh ATS arrested Qamer-uz-Zaman, who hails from Jamunamukh and had joined the Pakistani terrorist organization, from Kanpur on charges of planning to carry out terror attacks during Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations.

Uttar Pradesh ATS had after Qamer-uz-Zaman’s arrest told News Live that the latter was under the radar of UP Police following confirmed reports of his joining the terrorist organization and that multiple agencies coordinated leading to his arrest.
