Three terrorists killed in J&K

Three terrorists were killed in an encounter with security forces in Jammu & Kashmir’s Kulgam district Sunday morning.

The gunfight started after a joint unit of counter-terrorist security grid launched a cordon and search operation at Wani Mohalla Khudwani.

In a tweet, State DGP SP Vaid said, the slain terrorists were involved in the abduction and killing of a trainee policeman Mohammad Saleem Shah in Kulgam district. The body of the policeman was recovered from Mutalhama area of the district Saturday.

Security forces launched a search operation in Lolab Valley of Kupwara district on Sunday following a terror attack on an Army patrol. Security sources said, unknown terrorists had opened fire upon a patrol of Army in Khumriyal forest area this morning. There is no report of any casualty or injury in the attack. The sources said, the forces, comprising personnel of Army and Special Operations Group of state police, have initiated a combing operation in the area.

The Border Security Force (BSF) on Sunday foiled an infiltration bid along the international border in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir by gunning down one intruder. BSF sources told media that the troops guarding a post in Boboiya area of Hiranagar sector observed suspicious movement close to the fence and opened fire killing one intruder. It is being ascertained whether the intruder was alone or with a group.
