Guwahati: Drivers don’t need to always carry the hard copies of the required documents while driving a vehicle. They can carry the soft copy on their mobile phones loaded on a government app mParivahan.
Speaking in a video posted on twitter, Nitin Gadkari, Minister of Road Transport & Highways, Govt of India, clearly stated that one does not need to carry the papers if the scanned copies of the documents have been uploaded on the mParivahan mobile app.
The Union Transport Minister said that vehicle owners can upload the scanned copy of the driving licence, vehicle registration certificate, pollution control certificate and insurance certificate on the eParivahan app. When demanded by the traffic police or authorities the drivers can show the documents in the mParivahan mobile app, said Nitin Gadkari.
