A fire broke out at Guwahati’s Fancy Bazar area last night, leaving a trail of destruction in its path.
The fire started around 10 PM on Sunday night, November 26.
Reports suggest the fire may have been triggered by a series of cylinder explosions at the restaurant situated on the River Brahmaputra at Lachit Ghat.
According to sources, the fire damaged 90 percent of the restaurant.
No casualties or injuries have been reported in the incident so far.
Property worth lakhs has been reduced to ash.
Around 7 fire tenders were pressed for the situation.
The fire was controlled and doused in time.
Police and fire-fighting personnel were quick to respond to the incident and succeeded in extinguishing the fire.
