The flood situation in Assam remains critical as surging water inundated new areas today.
Official sources said that breach of embankments flooded several villages at Tengaguri in Morigaon and Lanka Suburi in Tihu circle.
Several rivers including the Brahmaputra and its tributaries are in spate. Around 2.5 lakh people are affected in the current floods in 11 districts.
Dhemaji and Lakhimpur are among the worst-hit districts. (AIR)
