Fuel prices have hit record high in Assam with state-owned oil companies hiking the prices. Petrol price in Haflong reached Rs 84.52 per litre, whereas diesel at Rs 77.38 per litre.

On the other hand, in Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal’s constituency- Majuli, Petrol price reached Rs 84.41 per litre. In Guwahati, Petrol price reached Rs 82.87 per litre and Diesel price reached Rs 75.91 per litre.
People, have slammed the government as well as oil companies for hiking petrol and diesel prices. Meanwhile, groups and organizations and the common people have flayed the government for failing to contain rising fuel prices. Assam Congress staged protest at Guwahati’s Fancy Bazar area on Sunday against surge in fuel price. Protests and demonstrations were also carried out at many places with protesters decrying the government’s silence over rising fuel prices.
