Meanwhile, a special team of Navy divers is being flown in from Visakhapatnam to assist the operations. The Navy team is expected to arrive in Jorhat at 4pm today and will head straight to Dikhowmukh and carry out operations to retrieve the car and look for possible survivors.
Five members of the family —Haren Bora, his mother Panou Bora, wife Phunu and daughters Chimpi and Munmi — are feared dead after their car veered off the embankment road and plunged into the river on Saturday night.
A team of NDRF from Golaghat along with SDRF personnel resumed operations today (Sep 3) morning but failed to locate the car along with the occupants, more than 40 hours since the tragic accident took place.
